The PE tube is the most commonly used, economical, disposable hose for groundwater sampling.
- Very inexpensive, can be replaced after every sampling
- No phthalates, metals, dyes
- Slightly transparent
To prevent cross-contamination to other monitoring wells, the tube is only used once. The tube is compliant with physico-chemical requirements as laid down in the standard DIN 8072 and for KIWA BRL K563.
Notes
- Will adsorb volatile substances (toluene, benzene) when stored near engines, plastic fuel canisters
- Limited stiffness for ball valve pump application (use HDPE hose 121505)
- Uptake and release of pollutants; replace hose with each new sample
- Not suitable for hot liquids
