The Royal Eijkelkamp Russian Peat Sampler is designed to collect representative, undisturbed samples from young and mature peat layers, as well as soft, organic sediments. Its intelligent, hand-operated design preserves the natural stratification, moisture content and organic structure of the material. This ensures reliable data for environmental investigations, ecological monitoring, climate analysis and carbon storage studies (C-stock).
The semi-cylindrical sample chamber with a rotating closure plate and solid cone prevents displacement or damage to roots, fibres and soft sediment. Once the desired depth is reached, the sampler is rotated 180°, filling and sealing the chamber so the sample can be extracted intact. Tapered threaded connections ensure stability and prevent play during deep sampling up to 10 metres.
How it works
- Manually press the sampler into the soil to the required depth.
- Rotate the sampler 180° to fill and seal the sample chamber.
- Extract the sampler; the sample remains fully undisturbed.
