The soft soil auger is a special type of Edelman auger. It has an extended auger body, sensitive to torsion. This makes it only suitable for sampling very soft (clay) soils.
This auger piece has a bayonet connection, which is considered the standard. The advantage of the bayonet connection is that it is a very fast coupling with little weight.
Using extension rods allows you to auger to a depth of up to 8 to 10 meters. The maximum boring depth strongly depends on various factors such as: depth of the groundwater, the soil profile, the characteristics of the material the auger has to pass through.

Augers should be left to air-dry after use and decontaminated with soaps. Rust will naturally appear on these augers.
