Liner sampler, standard set for sampling in more or less soft soils to a depth of 7 m.
The liner sampler set for soft soils, with bayonet connection, allows undisturbed soil samples to be taken in a liner. This is executed by applying a stainless steel core sampler with sample tubes and cutting head. In soft soils the sampler is pushed into the soil, possibly using the push/pull handle.

If undisturbed samples are required it can be challenging to remove the sample from the sampler tube. This type of corer uses a sample liner tube inside the sample tube which facilitates the removal of the sample from the tube. The sample, still in the liner, is stored in a container which can be sealed for transport to the laboratory. The sample can be viewed directly in the field without touching it.
Please note that the liner will absorb volatiles.
